Asus ZenBook 2023 Repair and Data Recovery
Asus released five ZenBook models in 2023: UP3404, UX3404, UM3504, UX6404 and one more. Two earlier models kept their numbers and changed inside. We repair them at component level and recover data from them, in London or by insured courier from anywhere in the UK.
ZenBook models released in 2023
The model number is on the label underneath the laptop, after the word MODEL. The letters that follow it, such as UX3405MA, identify the exact version.

Earlier models updated in 2023
These kept the model number they launched with. The parts inside changed, so the full model number on the label matters when we order parts.
| Model | Number | What changed in 2023 |
|---|---|---|
| ZenBook 14 OLED | UX3402 | Intel 13th gen Core processors |
| ZenBook 14 OLED | UM3402 | AMD Ryzen 7000U processors |
What is inside a 2023 ZenBook
- CPU platforms: Intel 13th gen Raptor Lake (U-series in UX5304, P-series in UP3404, H-series up to Core i9-13900H in UX3404 and UX6404) and AMD Ryzen 7035U (UM3504).
- 2.8K OLED throughout: 13.3-inch on UX5304, 14-inch 90Hz touch on UP3404, 14.5-inch 120Hz on UX3404 and UX6404, 15.6-inch 2880x1620 120Hz on UM3504 (an FHD IPS variant of UM3504 also exists).
- RAM is soldered on UX5304, UX3404, UP3404 and UM3504, each with a single M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 NVMe slot; Pro 14 OLED UX6404 differs in having one SODIMM slot.
- Charging is USB-C (65W on UP3404, 90W/100W on UX3404). Discrete graphics appear on UX3404 (optional RTX 3050) and UX6404 (RTX 4060/4070).

Repairs we carry out on 2023 ZenBook laptops
- Cracked or flickering OLED and LCD screens
- Battery and charging faults
- Keyboard and touchpad faults, including ScreenPad models
- Motherboard repair
- Hinge and lid damage
- SSD upgrades and data recovery
Where memory, storage or charging parts are soldered to the board, a fault there is a board-level repair, not a part swap. That is the work we do. See every year on the ZenBook page.
Data recovery from a 2023 ZenBook
When one of these laptops will not start, the files are usually still there. ZenBooks from these years store everything on an M.2 NVMe SSD. The memory is usually soldered to the board, but the SSD is not, so when the laptop itself has failed we can take the SSD out and read it directly.
Windows 11 switches on device encryption on many of these laptops without asking. If the drive is encrypted we need the BitLocker recovery key, which is normally saved in your Microsoft account.
