Asus ZenBook 2022 Repair and Data Recovery
Asus released nine ZenBook models in 2022: UM3402, UX3402, UX9702, UX8402 and five more. Two earlier models kept their numbers and changed inside. We repair them at component level and recover data from them, in London or by insured courier from anywhere in the UK.
ZenBook models released in 2022
The model number is on the label underneath the laptop, after the word MODEL. The letters that follow it, such as UX3405MA, identify the exact version.

What is inside a 2022 ZenBook
- CPU platforms: Intel 12th gen Alder Lake (P-series in UX3402 and UP5302, H-series in UX8402, UX7602 and UP6502, U-series in the 17 Fold UX9702) and AMD Ryzen 5000U (UM3402), Ryzen 6000U (UM5302) and Ryzen 6000 H-series (UM6702).
- 16:10 2.8K OLED is the standard panel on 13.3 and 14-inch models. Pro 14 Duo OLED UX8402 pairs a 14.5-inch OLED with a 12.7-inch ScreenPad Plus; Pro 17 UM6702 is the exception with a 17.3-inch IPS panel.
- ZenBook 17 Fold OLED UX9702 has a single 17.3-inch 2560x1920 foldable OLED touchscreen that folds into two 12.5-inch halves, with a 75Wh battery.
- RAM is soldered on Pro 15 Flip OLED UP6502 (one M.2 2280 NVMe slot) and Pro 17 UM6702 (LPDDR5).

Data recovery from a 2022 ZenBook
When one of these laptops will not start, the files are usually still there. ZenBooks from these years store everything on an M.2 NVMe SSD. The memory is usually soldered to the board, but the SSD is not, so when the laptop itself has failed we can take the SSD out and read it directly.
Windows 11 switches on device encryption on many of these laptops without asking. If the drive is encrypted we need the BitLocker recovery key, which is normally saved in your Microsoft account.

In most cases, yes. The SSD in a ZenBook can be removed and read directly, even when the motherboard has failed. The first look is free.
