Asus TUF Gaming 2021 Repair and Data Recovery
Asus released one new TUF Gaming model in 2021, the TUF Dash F15 FX516. Four earlier models kept their numbers and changed inside. We repair them at component level and recover data from them, in London or by insured courier from anywhere in the UK.
TUF Gaming models released in 2021
The model number is on the label underneath the laptop, after the word MODEL. The letters that follow it, such as FA507NV, identify the exact version.

What is inside a 2021 TUF Gaming
- New model: TUF Dash F15 FX516, a slimmer design with Core i7-11370H/11375H and RTX 3060/3070, 76Wh battery, 8GB DDR4 soldered plus one SO-DIMM slot, two M.2 slots, no webcam, and Thunderbolt 4 with power delivery alongside a 200W barrel adapter.
- Refreshed: FA506 and FA706 with Ryzen 5000H and RTX 30 (CES 2021); FX506 and FX706 with 11th Gen Intel H-series and RTX 3050/3050 Ti/3060 (May 2021), which added Thunderbolt 4 on the Intel models.
- The 2020 chassis carried over: two SO-DIMM slots, two M.2 NVMe slots, 48Wh or 90Wh battery, with the 2.5-inch SATA bay unavailable on 90Wh configurations.
- Displays are FHD IPS at 144Hz on most models, with 240Hz options on the A15/A17 and Dash F15.

Data recovery from a 2021 TUF Gaming
When one of these laptops will not start, the files are usually still there. TUF Gaming laptops have two M.2 NVMe slots, so there may be a second SSD fitted. Tell us if there is, so that we recover the right one. Models from 2020 and 2021 with the smaller battery also have a 2.5-inch SATA bay, which may hold a hard drive.
These laptops were sold with Windows 10, and many have since been upgraded to Windows 11, which can switch on device encryption by itself. If the drive is encrypted we need the BitLocker recovery key, which is normally saved in your Microsoft account.
