Asus ROG 2022 Repair and Data Recovery
Asus released four ROG models in 2022: GV601, GZ301, GX650 and GA402. Six earlier models kept their numbers and changed inside. We repair them at component level and recover data from them, in London or by insured courier from anywhere in the UK.
ROG models released in 2022
The model number is on the label underneath the laptop, after the word MODEL. The letters that follow it, such as GA402RJ, identify the exact version.

What is inside a 2022 ROG
- Move to DDR5: AMD Ryzen 6000 with RTX 30 / 30 Ti in Strix G15 G513R, G17 G713R, Flow X16 GV601 and Duo 16 GX650; Intel 12th-gen with RTX 30 Ti in Scar 15 G533Z, Scar 17 G733Z, Zephyrus M16 GU603Z and Flow Z13 GZ301. Those Strix, Scar and M16 models are refreshes that kept their 2021 base numbers.
- Zephyrus G14 GA402 (new 16:10 chassis) is all-AMD, Ryzen 6000HS + Radeon RX 6700S/6800S: 8GB DDR5 soldered plus one SO-DIMM, a single M.2 slot, vapour-chamber cooling, 76Wh battery, 240W adapter plus USB-C PD. The 2023 GA402 refresh moved to Ryzen 9 7940HS + RTX 40 with 16GB soldered.
- Flow Z13 GZ301 is a tablet with detachable keyboard: LPDDR5 soldered, M.2 2230 SSD, 100W USB-C charging and XG Mobile interface. Flow X16 GV601 has a mini-LED panel option and two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots.
- Strix Scar 17 SE G733CX (Core i9-12950HX + RTX 3080 Ti) has two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots, two M.2 SSDs shipped in RAID 0 and a 330W adapter. Zephyrus Duo 16 GX650 pairs a 16-inch mini-LED main panel with a 14-inch ScreenPad Plus and has two SO-DIMM slots.

Data recovery from a 2022 ROG
When one of these laptops will not start, the files are usually still there. ROG laptops use M.2 NVMe SSDs, and many have two or three slots. Some Strix Scar and Zephyrus models leave the factory with two SSDs striped in RAID 0, which splits every file across both drives. With those we need both SSDs to recover anything.
Windows 11 switches on device encryption on many of these laptops without asking. If the drive is encrypted we need the BitLocker recovery key, which is normally saved in your Microsoft account.

Yes. We collect by insured courier from anywhere in the UK and send the laptop back the same way.
My ROG is not in the 2022 list. Can you repair it?
Almost certainly. The tables cover the models we see most. Call 020 7394 2521 with the model number from the label underneath.
Can you recover my files if the laptop will not turn on?
In most cases, yes. The SSDs in a ROG laptop can be removed and read directly. If it has two SSDs in RAID 0, we need both. The first look is free.
