Asus ExpertBook, ProArt and Chromebook 2023 Repair and Data Recovery
Asus released eight ExpertBook, ProArt and Chromebook models in 2023: B9403, H7604, W7604, CM1402 and four more. Six earlier models kept their numbers and changed inside. We repair them at component level and recover data from them, in London or by insured courier from anywhere in the UK.
ExpertBook, ProArt and Chromebook models released in 2023
The model number is on the label underneath the laptop, after the word MODEL. The letters that follow it, such as B9403CVA, identify the exact version.

What is inside a 2023 ExpertBook, ProArt or Chromebook
- ExpertBook B9 OLED B9403: 14-inch 2880x1800 OLED, 13th-gen Core U-series with vPro options, LPDDR5X soldered on board, 63Wh battery, 65W USB-C charger, TPM 2.0 and a magnesium-lithium chassis from 990g. Asus's spec sheet lists a single M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 slot, unlike the dual-SSD B9450 and B9400.
- 13th-gen Core refreshes reuse the 2022 base numbers (B1402/B1502, B5402 and B5 Flip B5402F, B5602, B2 and B7 Flip B7402), so the SKU suffix (for example CVA rather than CBA) identifies the generation.
- ProArt StudioBook 16 OLED H7604 and StudioBook Pro 16 OLED W7604: 16-inch 3.2K 120Hz OLED, Core i9-13980HX with GeForce RTX 40 or RTX Ada graphics, and two M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 slots.
- Chromebook Plus launched in October 2023: Chromebook Plus CX34 CX3402 uses 12th-gen Core with 128GB UFS storage and a Titan C chip for hardware encryption; Chromebook CM14 CM1402 uses a MediaTek Kompanio 520 with 32-128GB eMMC and 4/8GB LPDDR4X; Vibe CX34 Flip CX3401 and Plus CM34 Flip CM3401 (Ryzen 7000C) use SSDs.

Data recovery from a 2023 ExpertBook, ProArt or Chromebook
When one of these laptops will not start, the files are usually still there. ExpertBook and ProArt laptops use M.2 NVMe SSDs. Several models have two, sometimes set up as a RAID pair, and with those we need both drives. Business laptops often have BitLocker switched on by the company that issued them, so ask your IT department for the recovery key. Chromebooks are different: the files are encrypted to your Google account and the storage is often soldered to the board, so recovery depends on getting the Chromebook itself to start. Anything synced to Google Drive is not affected.
Windows 11 switches on device encryption on many of these laptops without asking. If the drive is encrypted we need the BitLocker recovery key, which is normally saved in your Microsoft account.

Can you recover my files if the laptop will not turn on?
In most cases, yes. On ExpertBook and ProArt laptops the SSD can be removed and read directly. On a Chromebook, recovery depends on getting the Chromebook itself to start. The first look is free.
